Supporters consider him one of the world's leading environmentalists. Secretary General of both the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, which launched the world environment movement, and the 1992 Earth Summit and first Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Strong has played a critical role in globalizing the environmental movement.[1]

Ah yes, what a guy. Here is a classic quote of his... "The responsibility of each human being today is to choose between the force of darkness and and the force of light...we must therefore transform our attitudes and values, and adopt a renewed respect for the superior law of Divine Nature."

...In 1992, already we were seeing the ominous signs of a quasi religious culture emerging within the UN and the Environmentalist movement.
